CLILA is an organization in Dalton, GA 

that started working in May 2006-

(Incorporated in Feb. 2007)

 

Our Vision

 CLILA is an honest voice for the local Latino community, not moved by personal or group interests. It also promotes Latinos social integration, civic participation, as well as cultural diversity. It improves the quality of life for Latinos, offers options for Latino leadership development; encourages and supports economic advancement and offers paths to facilitate access to equal opportunities.  Therefore, trough CLILA, the Latinos from Northwest Georgia will be prepared to respond to the challenges that might come upon, the Latino community will develop its leadership, as well as its political and economical power, in order to have Hispanic representation in all the social sectors. 

 

 

Our Mission

  1. CLILA’ s mission is to develop competent, caring Latino grassroots leadership, with a variety of skills necessary to address the critical issues that challenge the Northwest Georgia Latino community.
  2. Encourage members of the Latino community in Northwest Georgia to engage in civic activities and to participate in the political process, by voter registration, voter education and participation, and citizenship education and process.
  3. Empower Latinos in Northwest Georgia to participate in field advocacy activities at federal, state and local levels to advance legislation on key issues.
  4. Be an honest voice for the Latino community.

  1. To develop collaborative relationships with other local, state, and national organizations and community leaders.
  • Latino Leadership Development to build the necessary skills to respond to community needs.
  • Latino Civic Participation (education on current issues, citizenship classes, voter registration, voter education, community participation)
  • Advocacy on immigration issues and civil and human rights, community meetings, forums, legislative updates
